I've been feeling a little under the weather the past week. Unable to get out to do any photography, I instead opted to go through the archives and process old photos. This shot (on the banks of the Rappahannock) was taken on 11/03/2002.

Sunset HDR of the doors on a beautiful weathered shed in Centreville Maryland.

On the same night I took the photos in the previous post, I also took 24 exposures meant for use as an HDR panorama. It was my first panorama, and I didn't really leave enough overlap for the subject matter. Selecting the 300+ control points took a long time (no really, a LONG time)...

This is our view of the hay and bison fields across the street from our house, taken with an ultra-wide angle aspherical lens (the Tamron SP AF 14mm f/2.8 is my favorite fall lens) and processed in Vignette for Android.

I've been experimenting this week with combining HDR and Orton techniques.

These first two shots were taken at a set of local trails (Hickory Hollow). They are HDR composites of three images, plus a red-channel only luminosity layer, and a set of "Orton" layers.

I wanted to do some IR photography today, but I do not have an IR filter for the wide-angle lens I was shooting with. Using just the red channel as a luminosity layer seems to produce a similar result.

This HDR composite was taken in my own back yard, looking out over the neighboring fields.

This week's entries are a series of HDR images of the Morattico Waterfront Museum.

I love the old Esso pump, and have photographed it on previous visits. Some previous shots can be seen in my Pre-simulacra photoset.

This week's theme is concrete. These shots are all of a bridge I photographed during the mid-October photo expedition I referred to last week. Most of them are HDR images using 3 exposures.

Two photos from last week's photo expedition and one of my favorite places to shoot on the northern neck, a set of old silos near Warsaw, Virginia.

I've been using the first of these images as a test image for some development work I'm doing in Processing, so expect to be seeing a lot more of it soon...

This week we had some friends visiting from out of town, and we ended up going on a photo expedition. The informal subject of the expedition was "Decay", and it took us to some of my favorite local places to shoot. I'll be posting shots from this trip over the next few weeks.
