Photo Expedition

This week's entries are a series of HDR images of the Morattico Waterfront Museum.

I love the old Esso pump, and have photographed it on previous visits. Some previous shots can be seen in my Pre-simulacra photoset.

This week's theme is concrete. These shots are all of a bridge I photographed during the mid-October photo expedition I referred to last week. Most of them are HDR images using 3 exposures.

Two photos from last week's photo expedition and one of my favorite places to shoot on the northern neck, a set of old silos near Warsaw, Virginia.

I've been using the first of these images as a test image for some development work I'm doing in Processing, so expect to be seeing a lot more of it soon...

This week we had some friends visiting from out of town, and we ended up going on a photo expedition. The informal subject of the expedition was "Decay", and it took us to some of my favorite local places to shoot. I'll be posting shots from this trip over the next few weeks.

Otherwise, I'm starting off with a few shots from Ice Hole Pond near Nuttsville Virginia.

I went out one night last week to the shores of White House Creek with a wide-angle lens set to f/18 (or better) and a sheet of construction paper -- more about that after the photos themselves. I started out taking exposures at around a half-second, but was up to 30 seconds or more per exposure by the end of the set.
