Two photos of some fun metal Mario artifacts that we found on a recent trip (bonus: they originally had candy in them).

For the past few years we have grown a long strip of Zinnias next to our garden. But this spring I had both motivational and time management issues and never managed to get the tiller out of the barn... Consequently our Zinnias (and much of our produce) are coming from Yellow Finch Farm, a fantastic local CSA.

These Zinnias had been cut close to a week when I photographed them, but they still looked beautiful.

It seems like the past week or so has been filled with bad news and sadness. But we've also had our fair share of evening rains that have brought out the rainbows. So in all its schmaltzy glory, here is a set of rainbow photos from the past week.

This week's photo is a another frosty morning shot (telephoto this time) of the bison that live across the road from us.

This week's photo is an early morning frosty macro shot.

I was testing out our new Sony H20. It is a point-and-shoot that we bought for our business (for taking macro shots of beads and other craft supplies), but I really like its ease of use and image quality. There is something nice about not having to grab the heavy tripod and long SLR macro lens!

This week's photos are of one of the outbuilding's on a neighbor's farm.

I'm actually a day or two early for "week 52", but I want to get this posted, and highlight a new photoset I'm working on called: Benthic Monochrome.

I've been shooting more black and white lately (well, shooting in color, and splitting out either the red or blue channels), and I have been trying to get out and explore the estuarine environment that surrounds me. I'm planning to combine these two pursuits into series documenting the Chesapeake estuary in black and white.
